Error Decoder is maintained by one independent publisher, and readers' reports are what keep it accurate. The best way to reach us is by email.

There is no contact form, so nothing you send passes through a third-party form service. Your message goes straight to our mailbox.

What to write to us about

  • Corrections. A definition that is wrong, a fix that no longer works on current versions, a broken link, or a step that you think is unsafe. These get priority.
  • Missing error codes. A code you saw that is not in our database, or that we list under the wrong product.
  • What worked for you. If you fixed an error in a way our guide does not mention, tell us. Good, verifiable solutions are added to the guide (we do not publish your name or email).
  • Privacy requests. Questions or requests under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws. See our privacy policy.
  • Copyright or legal concerns about content on the site.

Help us help you

A useful report usually includes:

  1. the address of the page on Error Decoder;
  2. the exact error code and message you saw (a screenshot is fine);
  3. where it appeared: product, version and operating system (for example "Windows 11 23H2, Microsoft Store");
  4. what you expected and what actually happened.

Please do not send passwords, licence keys, full log files containing personal data, or remote access to your computer. We will never ask for them.

What to expect

  • We read every message. We normally reply within a few working days, and corrections are usually checked and fixed within a week.
  • We cannot offer one-to-one technical support or repair your device remotely. For urgent or complex problems, please contact the manufacturer's official support or a local professional.
  • We do not accept paid links, sponsored posts or guest articles, and we will not reply to such offers.
